Industry toolbox · First vertical
AI tools for HR teams.
The systems HR runs on - HRIS and payroll, applicant tracking, scheduling, performance and training - scored 0–100 on what an AI can safely do with them. Built alongside the CSRA SHRM community in Augusta.
Why HR first
HR holds the riskiest data and the most upside.
Payroll and personnel files are exactly the data you must never hand to an ungoverned AI - and exactly the data that makes AI useful when access is scoped, logged and revocable. That is why security and governance is a full 15 points of the score, and why we read that dimension first for anything in this toolbox.
AI literacy is quickly becoming an HR competency rather than an IT one. HR will be asked to write the policy, hire the AI Administrator, and answer for the hiring algorithm.
Never automate an adverse decision
Screening assistance is fine. Termination, discipline and hiring rejections keep a human decision-maker, every time, with the reasoning recorded.
Ask about bias audits by name
If a tool screens or ranks candidates, ask the vendor for their bias-audit posture in writing. Greenhouse is the benchmark to compare answers against.
Check who trains on your data
Before granting an AI access to personnel records, confirm in the contract whether your data trains the vendor's models. Get it in writing, not in a blog post.
The chain that pays for itself
Applicant tracking → e-signature → HRIS.
Onboarding is the workflow where a scored stack proves itself: an offer accepted in the ATS generates the letter, routes it for signature, and opens the employee record - with nobody retyping a name. Every link in that chain needs a real API. That is what the scores below are telling you.
Scores are provisional estimates from public documentation, pending verification against vendor docs, and reflect the plan a small or mid-size employer would actually buy. Related systems every HR team touches - Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Docusign, KnowBe4, 1Password and Okta - are scored in the full catalog.
CSRA SHRM
Built with the local HR community.
Resolute AIM presents Beyond the Buzz: AI In The Workplace to CSRA SHRM on September 10, 2026 - bias and hiring risk, human oversight, ethics, and the reframe this whole catalog is built on: AI-friendliness is a property of your tool stack, not a product you buy.
Attendees get the one-page AI-Friendliness Scorecard, the AI Administrator job description, and a free 30-minute tool-stack audit.
Shadow AI is already here
Your employees are using AI whether or not you have a policy. The only real question is whether it is governed - and whether payroll data is anywhere near it.
Quick wins HR can own
Meeting summaries in Zoom AI Companion at no extra cost. Handbook question answering in Notion. Onboarding chains in Power Automate. All on tools most employers already license.
Next step
Score your HR stack before your next renewal.
Send us your HRIS, ATS, scheduling and LMS vendors. We will score them, flag the governance gaps, and show you what an AI could safely automate this quarter.
